Quick, easy set up, easy to understand. Travels well, so it fits in the little gaps of your board game bag where the other, bigger boxes don't line up perfectly.

Roter Norden
Roter Norden is an intense bluff and hidden information game where 2-4 players compete to control northern outposts with various Viking warrior factions. Across three seasonal rounds—Spring, Summer, and Ragnarök—you must plan carefully, outbluff your opponents, and decide when to commit or retreat. A strategic 25-minute battle for those daring to face the gods' fate.
An intense hidden information and bluff game for 2-4 players: sharpen your axes and send your fiercest champions and raiding squads to conquer the northern outposts. You have three rounds at your disposal - Spring, Summer, Ragnarök - and while early victories bring glory, beware: during Ragnarök even the gods themselves might turn the tide of battle. Only those who plan carefully and can outwit their opponents will take home victory. Roter Norden is played with hidden cards belonging to different warrior factions, competing to conquer outposts of the corresponding faction: knowing when to commit fully and when to retreat is key to success, because resources are scarce. Only those who deploy their troops with intelligence will triumph even during Ragnarök.

Played in Essen 2025. A very fun game! We played it a lot afterwards. Reminds me of Condottiere, but this one is better. A lot of twists and opportunities to do fun things and outplay your opponents. Quite often, you think you are toast after a bad first round, but you still manage to do a great comeback in the second or last round and win the game. The theme is nice too. Perfect filler or travel game! And James Dickinson is a very nice fellow too, I am happy to have a signed game :)
O jogo surpreendeu demais! gosto dos 3 turnos bem diferentes, você precisa balancear bem entre ganhar a rodada, levar cartas para a próxima rodada e ganhar os outposts certos
This reimplementation of Sær offers plenty of player interaction to keep everyone engaged. The game play teems with satisfying apprehension as cards are incrementally flipped over and plans eventually become revealed. I find it all quite charming for a short, card game.
