Description
In 1963, when the Americans could not yet openly take part in direct actions against North Vietnamese territory, they turned to their contacts in Norway to command the fast patrol boats assigned to commando landing missions. These contacts found three young sailors for this dangerous task. Ragnar Andersen, Erik Karlsen and Mads Berg proved exceptional, even risking their lives to rescue South Vietnamese raiders returning from missions. It was the early stage of the Vietnam War, and the three men, nicknamed “Vikings” by the CIA, could not imagine what the conflict would become a few years later. Inspired by an incredible true story, “Vichinghi In Vietnam” (subject by Alessandro Giorgi, historian and war expert) is a graphic novel about the adventures of these young Norwegians, skilfully balancing action and introspection in evocative and powerful pages scripted and drawn by Fabrizio De Fabritiis.
