My favorite multiplayer game for six seats. The successor to Here I Stand trying out and changing some rules from the original game - i.e. Minor Powers, religious conversions, espionage, removing the suing for peace. It isn't as tight as HIS which has its pros and cons. There are more methods to gain VPs and inexperienced players may be too peaceful and watch another power peacefully win its way to victory. As a result, watching the table combined with effective diplomacy is arguably more vital than in HIS. At the time of this writing I slightly prefer VQ to HIS but they're both 10/10 ratings for me on BGG. As of 6/2/2025 I have 7 online or in-person games under my belt.

Fantastic sequel and worthy successor to Here I Stand! I've had nothing but positive feedback when I got this incredible game on the table. My group and I have played this about 9 times now with a full compliment of six and one game with five. It scales really well and there are plenty of options and choices to make, there isn't a single dull moment of downtime.
It's like Here I Stand, which is awesome, with extra chrome. All in just the right places. Like HIS it's a ten. We got this one in August of 2024 and immediately put it on the table for back-to-back-to-back games. It hasn't killed HIS for us, but it's the preferred game right now. Just a most excellent game.
Extraordinary game, and easily my favorite major multi-player epic. Amazing scope for skillful play, constrained but extremely impactful negotiation, luck with plenty of mitigants and opportunities for recovery. Every decision is consequential and agonizing. A game for the ages to be played many times. See my post under Variants about why this game should be played to 30 VPs!
it's a trully amazing game. you can feel the history through the events and the uniqueness of every nation you choose. Just find 5 ppl who love strategy games and after 2 plays of checking and learning all these rules you can have so much fun with it. Colonization, piracy, wars, royal marrigies and alliances, infuence the minor powers, religious wars, patronage scientist and more... all these in balance
