very good time system, and really encourages you to do some crazy create and learn combo all the time to keep tempo. Archive and excavate is fine sometimes and definitely never search. You draw and use enough cards to make sure you can see as many options as possible. Variety of cards is there.
I had a real lack of interest in this one, not sure why, just did. Played a game out of duress somewhat, instantly loved it and went out and bought a copy. Amazing every play. Yes some plays are less exciting than others but they are all wonderful puzzles to work through and each new game begins with a tingle of excitement about what the starting hand might be and what might play out from it. Fabulous design, fabulous art, fabulous production.
first impression was good... and terrifying. The ever-present fear of unspent knowledge looming over you on one side, with great cards still waiting to be played from your hand on the other side... Somehow you manage to remove the knowledge on time and you feel proud of your achivements.. I have to play it more to explore more combos. edit: I played it a lot more, and I love this game. Every play feels a bit different as there are so many combos.great expansion that just shuffled in and didn't add anything to the playtime. highly recommended
I enjoy nearly every aspect of this game. To start, set up and tear down is a breeze thanks to the two different sized cards. The card combos and temporary engine building are fantastic and so much fun to execute. The design really shines at getting so many cards cycled through your hands, providing endless strategic options. After only a few plays I can see so many different routes to victory which excites me to play it again and again.
It is the most satisfying game that i played last year! So many combos you can play for an 1 hour.... WOW! The TIMELINE mechanic is superior and make you cry. Because the player have a lot of variations what to do. Historical monuments are unbelievable - i learned that there are beautiful megaliths in south-east Asia! 10/10
