The world as we once knew it no longer exists, civilization has collapsed. In Heredity - Die Geschichte von Swan, players embody a family living in seclusion that has managed to avoid the various marauding, violent groups - so far... Heredity - Die Geschichte von Swan is a cooperative, narrative game in which players take on the roles of family members Djamal, Maeve, Selena, and Brick, while the youngest brother, Swan, is in danger. Using a timeline that develops during the game from narrative cards and encounters, players keep track of events. Throughout the campaign, the characters experience an unusual adventure in a post-apocalyptic setting. To successfully complete the chapters, they must equip themselves, explore the terrain, and defend themselves against enemies. Or perhaps peaceful negotiations are the way to go? Depending on the development of the characters and the story, the adventure always unfolds differently, and it is the players' task to always keep an eye on their ability to act and the tasks at hand before a family member is seriously injured and the chapter is lost.
