In Ka Pai – Orokohanga the original rule of writing both symbols if you roll two identical symbols no longer exists. In every roll you must draw one symbol. But when you write a symbol in a space with a colored icon, you must also draw that second symbol in a space with an identical colored border. You don’t need to follow the normal placement rules when drawing in a space with a coloured border - you may choose any matching coloured space on the sheet with a border of that colour.
