Shipwrights of the North Sea plays at the beginning of the Viking Age. As shipbuilders, players try to build the largest Viking fleet in the North Sea. They need to collect iron, wood, and wool and recruit helpful craftsmen. Gold is a valuable asset and should be used wisely. Additionally, the player's village is populated with many characters, both helpful and hindering. Hopefully, they are on the right side! The goal in Shipwrights of the North Sea is to have the most victory points at the end of the game. Points are obtained by building various ships and buildings. The game ends after the round in which one or more players complete their fourth ship. Shipwrights of the North Sea is played over a sequence of rounds (days). Each day follows the same structure: Morning: Planning phase Each player receives 3 cards through a special distribution mechanism ('Draft'). Afternoon: Work phase Players take actions to build ships and play or discard their 3 cards. Evening: Rest phase All players receive gold and workers for the next day. A game by Shem Phillips. Game contents: 1 rulebook, 1 pioneer marker, 5 victory point markers, 5 wooden gold ships, 50 wooden workers, 25 wooden wood markers, 25 wooden wool markers, 25 wooden iron markers, 5 player aids, 5 player boards, 128 playing cards.
