Jigūan: The Eastern Mechanist

This is exactly the type of game we like. Good puzzle matrix Very simple game, though. One thing I noticed is that a lot of people seem to have missed some rules at first (us included). + The pagoda tracks are basically for upgrades and other movement bonuses; the level does not equal the number of dots. + Ensure markers start below the pagoda tracks, not on level one which awards energy. + The card backs also contain scoring dots. + Note that the numbers / gear are always the same colors. + Playing with the standard bonus side of the gear board can be a good way to start new players off.

I bought this at Essen in 2021. But later I sold it to my friend. Interesting concept, but you must concentrate on taking the most points from this game. Medium heavy euro.

Really unique blend of mechanics. Rule book needs some work but once you figure out how to play its fast and fun and flows very nicely. It's very satisfying linking up blueprints and looking for the reward/mission cards that give you the most points. I also really like the small box that it comes in. Most games this size would take advantage of larger boxes.
