The Landing: Gallipoli 1915

It's really only a play once or twice game. But it's well done, and I especially like the small touches in the rulebook such as "shake the armies in your hand then place them on the boat" and then the journal is a nice touch. I like that this game treats war as the travesty that it is, and it is respectful to the ottomans and ausie/new zealand soldiers.

I muddled through a game, and I think i followed the correct procedures. Repeated draws of the Fear cards hampered my progress, but I was able to get three ANZAC counters to the last terrain card by the third dusk card. Unfortunately, bad die rolls meant I could not finish the job in time, so we dug in at dark. Surprisingly enough, the journaling phase really enhances the play experience, and I highly recommend it.
