Description Description

Thematic Overview: In the Realm of Kanta power was balanced between clans. Each controlled a handful of states from which the clan derived its wealth. That changed when the plague came. Fearing the spread of infection, states shut their borders, and the clan leaders retreated to Kanta City. In the wake of the plague, you'll compete with other leaders to rebuild your clans’ wealth. Send out councils from the safety of Kanta City to earn the allegiance of states and reopen borders. Will you guide your clan to become the most powerful in this new era? How to play: Each player selects a role card that identifies them as the leader of a specific clan. Your clan provides unique abilities in the game. Your goal is to finish the game as the wealthiest clan in this post-plague era. Every player gets the same number of hexagon tiles to start (anywhere from 12-20 depending on the number of players and the desired game length). Each of these "council tiles" identifies your clan, and represents a group of six clan members, known as a council. As leader, you send these councils out to reclaim states by placing one tile per turn on the map that is shown on the game board. Because the councils are opening borders as they go along, and can only travel through open states, you will always play your tile next to the starting tile or another council tile already on the board. Your six council members per tile are assigned to its six sides. They each speak one of three languages of the realm, which is indicated at each edge. Councils must speak a common language at every shared border wherever you place your tile. Players earn wealth by positioning themselves to be part of rings of claimed states. These form free trade rings. Each ring of six claimed states on the hexagonal-grid board earns gold for the involved clans, proportionate to the amount of representation a clan has in each ring. Players can also earn wealth and abilities through action cards earned by claiming certain types of states. Perils and opportunities abound in the various states. The game ends when everyone has placed their tiles. The player with the most gold (from rings and action card values) wins. —description from the publisher
