Slade is an ordinary man of our times, who after a road accident discovers he has a third eye, perhaps a vestige of ancient powers of the race. Along with the third eye, strange visions begin to appear to him... desolate swamps and metallic corridors of mysterious spaceships, cities where thirsty beggars hold out their bowls to ask for the alms of a pint of blood... a naked girl wandering in a desolate landscape... When Slade disappears, and after some time the shattered body of a man with three eyes is found on Earth, it is easy to think that the mystery will remain forever. But is Slade really dead? And is he the decisive pawn in a power struggle that has been shaking a parallel world for millennia, or is he the unknown and forgotten deus ex machina?
