With a chit-pull system you do not decide the activation order: chits are drawn from a cup or a bag and the unit or formation that comes out is the one that moves. It is the mechanism of wargames that simulate the fog of war, and it works well for a single player because the game decides who acts. It suits people who accept uncertainty and enjoy long sessions: the average length here runs past five hours.
