A rondel is a wheel of actions: your marker moves in a single direction and can advance a few spaces per turn, so the action you really want may be on the far side of the circle. Planning means picking the right sequence of stops, and skipping ahead costs you. It is an elegant mechanic that gives euros rhythm, and it suits players who enjoy optimising a route.
These are mid-weight titles, an hour and a half on average, mostly for 1 to 4 players, recommended age 12 and up. Ostia: Mariner Edition and Orloj - L'orologio Astronomico di Praga are two-hour euros for 1 to 4; Galileo Galilei (EDIZIONE ITALIANA) stays around 100 minutes.
