Commodity speculation is buying cheap to sell dear: goods whose price depends on how much is in circulation, company shares, auctions where the other players set the value. These are games where reading the table matters more than optimising your own tableau, and they suit people who like markets, bluffing on prices and sessions where someone else's move changes everything.
The entry curve runs from family to heavy. Monopoly: South Park Collector's Edition is the licensed take on the classic, age 8 and up, up to 6 players. Container has players producing and shipping goods whose price they set themselves, 90 minutes for 3 to 5, with Container: More Containers as its expansion. Clans of Caledonia is a two-hour economic game. Imperial 2030 (VERSIONE TEDESCA) and Arkwright Anniversary Edition are for experienced tables, three and four hours respectively.
uplay.it lists over 130 commodity speculation games available to order, with Rio Grande Games and Queen Games among the most represented publishers, in Italian, English and German.
