With progressive turn order the first player is neither fixed nor random: the marker moves one seat each round, so everyone eventually opens and closes the cycle. It is a design choice that removes the first-player advantage and lets you plan a few rounds ahead. You find it mostly in mid to heavy strategy games, averaging 2 to 5 players, about ninety minutes a session and a suggested age from 12.
Puerto Rico 1897: Special Edition (EDIZIONE ITALIANA) rotates the governor who picks a role first; Wyrmspan (EDIZIONE ITALIANA) is a 90-minute card engine with dragons for 1 to 5; Oh My Goods!: Big Box condenses the same idea into 45 minutes; Robinson Crusoe: Avventure sull'Isola Maledetta – Collector Edition passes the first player token around in a two-hour cooperative survival game. Nearly all of these titles include a solitaire mode as well.
