Based on the first novel of the "Die Zwerge" tetralogy written by Markus Heitz, the overall, common goal of this cooperative game is to keep out the evil from flooding the "Geborgene Land". Every player chooses one of the famous dwarfs known from the novel, equipped with different stats for fighting, crafting, running and a unique special ability. Before every players turn the evil usually breakthrough one of the four big gates, usually heavily guarded by the four dwarf tribes, and spreads to the land by destroying it. On his turn a player can use two action points to use two of five actions. He can fight against the advancing enemies (orcs, trolls and albae i.e. dark elves), can solve a minor quest for rewards or the top mayor one what releases the next mayor one and in the end is the only way to win the game. He can try to convince the big council that gives advantages for all players or without the agreement of the council, disadvantages. Or last but not least he can travel to other locations. For the majority of these actions a player has to succeed a dice driven challenge. If the players are to bad with controlling the evil floods and are not able to simultaneously solve the mayor quest line in time, they will lose.
