A Place for All My Books is a puzzley book gathering, sorting, and organizing game in which players arrange stacks of books in different rooms of their apartment as personal projects. When done, they can admire their accomplishments and gain their rewards – not least of which is renewed energy, which they can then spend to head out into the village...to pick up more books! This competitive game for 1-4 players feels rather zen as you play. The organizational puzzles are easy to accomplish, with the challenge being how many of them you can accomplish all at once to optimize each 'admire' action. A Place for All My Books includes a solo mode in which you must beat the game's rival: Penelope Eveready, an untiring extrovert who seems to be grabbing all the books you had wanted.

A thematic home run, and the most "cosy" game I've played. If that wasn't enough, the gameplay loop is fantastic - trying to efficiently complete Little Projects while making the most of your trips to town is a delightful experience. It's the perfect length and complexity, and on top of everything else, it has an excellent solo mode! I'm in love.

A solid game, with all the options printed on the boards, and just a really nice, pastel coloured theme. Have currently only played it once, two player, and it was by chance a really tight game for scoring (only three or four points in it) which colours a well balanced game to me. Having things like 'social battery' being a token system made me feel pretty seen ? Really pleaded I backed this one, supported the crew who made Boop, and got some neat wooden components.

LOVE the theme! And it's very thematic! It's more brain-burning than I expected! I got a little overwhelmed with the restrictions of moving books around--it could take several turns to get things moved to meet an objective...and when playing solo, you have to meet an objective every turn or Penelope will destroy you.

This game is about organizing the little things that you love to gain the social energy to face the world. It captures the theme well, and I am not sure a theme has ever resonated so strongly with me as this one.
