A thematically-essential expansion! Two NPC's from the base game are now PC's, and there are two new PC's that are close to thematically-iconic in this game for me (basically, a mysterious MMA fighter, and Ben Franklin vampire hunter). The new villain, the Necromancer, is also thematically a genre classic (despite simply using the Vampire minion sheet).
4 new heros 1 new villan and 12 new cards. The villan (The Necromancer) uses the vampire minion sheet which is lame. And the price is too high for what you get. If you love A Touch of Evil it is a nice addition.
I didn't rate it a 10 because I don't think I needed it. But I did want it. The new heroes are pretty cool for more options and it does add a cool villian. It's too bad the villain uses the same chart as the Vampire but it's abilities are different, so it's still different to play against.
Not a good price if you buy it new. If your game store is running a deal to give this away for free with purchase of the other ATOE components, take it. If you can get this for very cheap, go ahead. NOT worth 25 bucks by any stretch of the imagination. Fun characters though. I recommend printing out copies of the cards and playing with proxies if you aren't lucky enough to score a cheap/free copy of the real thing.
FFP products aren't cheap, but they are quality, and you'll need this to provide some variation to the base game characters. And the Necromancer is a hard bastard!
