I really like the mechanics of this game aswell as the looks and cool 3D buildings. Saw the prototype at Essen and got my attention right away! After playing some TTS games already I am looking forward to the real thing!

Description
An Age Contrived is a fantasy euro game of engine building and resource programming. You play as a god in the Eldranic pantheon, where you are only as powerful as the mortals of this unstable world believe you are. Your goal is to establish yourself as the pantheon's prevailing god by securing mortal belief, as you advance the mortal realm from its age of darkness into civilization. Each player receives a character board and a transmutation device, which they use to channel their energy into the mortal realm. Energy is how a god exerts its will, and is used to construct monuments, claim new tiles, and accomplish lasting achievements. Bind your energy for end-game scoring, and unlock new energy to replenish your reserves. The game ends when the last monument is complete, at which point the player with the most points wins.
There are two types of turns, with no rounds or phases. On a player's turn, they must either charge their transmutation device and program it openly, or use its energy to take as many actions as they have already programmed. Information is open, and the only luck is in the shuffling of tiles to set up the game. Player choices determine how the game unfolds.
The game features unlockable unique player powers, a board that players construct differently each game, and 5 ways to build your engine. You will be encouraged to plan ahead, but required to adapt your strategy in order to come away victorious.

Can't understand the critisism this game gets. It's extremly satisfying to program a action sequence and play out all the different combos you can get. It's quite heavy in the first plays, but you get better over time. Also my gf, which doesn't like to play board games that much loves this game.
Somewhat biased, but I really love this game. It's fairly long, but so unique, so rich in combos, and so insanely beautiful.
A lot to love here. Long term planning/short term best move available style play. A.lot to pay attention to and think about, with lots of combo potential if you plan correctly. The ultra deluxe bling is icing on the cake.
Just received this from the KS campaign -- extremely high production quality, and fun Euro gameplay! I hadn't realized it has a solo mode, and I haven't tried that yet, but as someone who rarely gets a big group together to play, I'm looking forward to it! Update: The solo mode is fun, and has 2 automas for each playable faction, which makes it very fun -- I won my first solo game against one automa, but then lost badly to the next. Seems like great replayability!
CAUTION! Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. It contains small parts which could be swallowed or inhaled.
