Fully German edition of 'Auztralia'. For seven long centuries, precisely since 1180, the Great Old Ones exercised full control over the riches of the Earth and the fate of humanity. Until the year 1888, when Sherlock Holmes and a secret brotherhood of intrepid, Victorian heroes managed to defeat these monstrous tyrants and drive them from their lands. It was a triumph of humanity, but the lands of Europe and America were in a devastating state. Other parts of the planet were still unexplored, and humanity enjoyed its newfound freedom, sending ships to explore the world. They discovered a huge new continent, soon to be known as Australia. Fearless prospectors and surveyors began to explore this continent. Pioneers and settlers followed them, building ports and railways far into the interior. They established farms and shipped the produce to the starving masses they had left behind. In the hinterland, immense deposits of coal, iron, and gold were discovered. But there was more waiting for them... 'AuZtralia' is a military/economic/adventure game for 1 to 4 players, thematically linked to the events of A Study in Emerald. Each player starts with a port on the coast of Australia. From there, tracks are built into the hinterland to extract resources and build farms. Each player has their own player board for their resources and units available at their port. Everything the players do during the game costs time. The player whose disc is furthest back on the timeline becomes the Active player and takes one of their markers from their headquarters, places it on one of the action spaces on their player board, and performs the corresponding action. This action costs time units, advancing the player's disc on the timeline accordingly. At a certain point, the Great Old Ones awaken. They begin to reveal themselves and move, becoming another 'player'. The Great Old Ones always move towards the nearest settlement, be it a farm or a port. If they reach a farm, they blight the land; if they reach a port, the game ends immediately. The winner is then determined from the players and the Great Old Ones. Game contents: 1 double-sided game board, 4 double-sided player boards, 4 port discs, 90 wooden markers (in 5 colors), 13 wooden discs (in 5 colors), 84 farm markers (in 4 colors), 80 track tiles (in 4 colors), 50 pieces of coal, 50 pieces of iron, 50 pieces of gold, 7 pieces of phosphate, 1 game aid, 36 personality cards, 40 Great Old One cards, 30 Revelation cards, 10 solo missions, 5 two-player variant cards, 25 military unit tiles, 43 Great Old One tiles, 20 survey tiles, 13 Mental Stability markers, 17 victory point markers, 2 combat markers, 1 rulebook.
