Much more fun and balanced than the original, which was strong in its own right. Plays best with 4 or 5.

An excellent game for an under served conflict. Some people like to speed the game up with tournament rules, I prefer the original rules.

Fabulous... but long. It is a great game. I highly recommend it to those who likes Axis & Allies. Note: it does not have enough units to play the game properly - you will need to have some other A&A game so that you can borrow infantry units to play the game. The other option is to get two copies of the game - an expensive option. If a second edition ever emerges I hope these problems can be corrected.

The 10 is for game play only! Great WW1 feeling and a very nice alternation compared to the WW2 versions. Be warned, do not compare it with Axis WW2! Our group is complaining its ‘static’ (not my opinion) all the time but of course the game does not own fast panzer divisions or strong aircraft. Despite their critics we play the game since weeks and have a lot of fun. Especially after the game when we discuss the game and new strategies. My critics: Dammed cost cutters! Miss a production Chart, sufficient Chips, IPC certificates and a few more miniatures especially Infantry (e.g. Germany has not enough Inf. when it bought them in round one. It has to say ‘this staple of chips is Inf.’!).

Despite relative simplicity, captures grand strategy of WWI well with combined arms synergies, new tank and air, etc. Introduced by Rob. Tournament rules online seem to move a bit quicker to 4-6 hours down from ~8.
