"Blackbox, 1 - Futura memoria" is the first volume of a dystopian quadrilogy with steampunk tones, set in Ecrònia, a boundless city where order prevails and every inhabitant strives to advance society. In this megalopolis that works like a perfect gear, repeating the past is the only way to face the future. Rituals, bonds and anniversaries drive people to respect a memory that is almost always cruel and cynical. Because in Ecrònia nobody plays anymore, but everyone knows the rules. Within this habitual and orderly society moves Isaac, a cynical employee of Project E.L.I.A. who cannot wait to fight and prove his worth. A son who does not love life and hates his mother Judith, an old fairground worker who still contributes to the periodic War between the young and the old by building ibroms, anthropomorphic beings destined for combat. This comic shows a dystopia that is not happy to be one and therefore uses feeling, remorse and love to react against Ecrònia's established world. These may perhaps be the only ways not to be controlled and subjugated, thereby becoming dangerous subjects.
