Description Description
Braccio da Montone is a game that simulates the two major battles fought by the condottiero Braccio da Montone: Sant'Egidio (July 12, 1416) and l'Aquila (June 2, 1424). There are no turns, but a continuous series of Condottiero activations. A Condottiero's "Command Capacity" determines the number of order points received when activated, used to move, fire, and attack with his in-command units. The game emphasizes the fatigue of armies during battle and includes ad hoc rules to reflect the different tactics used by Braccio da Montone. The Victory Level mechanic introduces uncertainty about how much longer the game will last. Components: two maps 84x60 cm; 176 5/8” and 140 1/2” die-cut counters; three player aid carts; a rule booklet with scenarios and historical background. Scale: 1 hex = 100 meters; 1 strength point = 100-200 men for cavalry, 250-500 men for infantry, 750-1,000 men for militia.
