In Carcassonne Bin. We play this BIG. I have 2 base games and every expansion I could get my hands on. Even sent away to Germany for a Spielbox Magazine with the Plague expansion. WE LOVE THIS GAME!! We move furniture and play on the floor. We play all of it at the same time. ALL OF IT. We have a knapsack that we toss all the tiles into. We sprawl the map all over the place. Full games can take hours and scoring the farms at the end is a total headache but we LOVE THIS GAME!! We don't bother separating the expansions afterwards because we know we are going to play the whole thing the next time anyway.

The circus adds a few creative new ways to play, like stacking circus performers for points, placing a ringmaster strategically near a circus tile and acrobats when possible, and using the circus tiles to maximize how many points your score from the animal's performance--just hope it's not the flea! XD

We didn't pick this up until we got the new 3.1 expansions, and this might be the best of the major expansions (outside of the 1st and 2nd expansions). There's a whole other layer of game added. And it actually works extremely well with the mega game, as the big top slowly travels across the play area. These are not huge amounts of points up for grabs (1-7 points for performance tokens, 5 points each for acrobat meeples), but it is fun to be part of the circus – as either artist or spectator. Plus each player gets 2 additional meeples, so using one or two in a pyramid isn't as burdensome. Rating: Amazing • 9/10

This expansion was a lot of fun, added incentive to build a little different and to place the ringmaster to score a bunch of points. Our game was really high scoring with totals of 197 and 201 at the end. We liked this.

Wow, this was way fun! The big tops are the best part of the expansion. They add "hot spots" that everyone wants to get next to. The point swings with them are not too big, so it doesn't become the only focus of the game. The Acrobats are fun in the same way, but are a bit powerful in the number of points they add for placing just one tile.
