Another perfect, immersive western (I also love Great Western Trail). I particularly love the real estate mechanics and the action selection in this game.

Carson City: Big Box is a collection of the Carson City base game, the Gold & Guns expansion, and the upcoming Horses & Heroes expansion. The game board has been redesigned and updated to support a sixth player and the Horses & Heroes expansion. The game is played in four rounds, and in each one of them, the players choose one of the characters, which give certain advantages. When several players claim the same action, a duel is fought, and the player with the most firepower wins the action. In the end, the most prominent citizen in Carson City - as measured by victory points that can be won both during and after the game - wins.
Carson City: Gold & Guns, the first expansion, contains updated buildings and houses, new buildings, new double-sided characters, the "Indian" character (previously a promotional item at Spiel 2010), and a separate expansion called "The Outlaws".
Carson City: Horses & Heroes, the second expansion, lets players visit the rodeo to claim additional victory points and use horses to unlock special actions. Three new characters are also added to the game.
The Deluxe Wood Edition is dedicated to fans who want to replace over 80 game components with wooden elements, adding a touch of authenticity and quality to the game materials.

My favorite game of all time. Great worker placement game, and I love how you can fight for a space. I also love the push and pull of the economy and VPs of the game. You need to know when to save your money and when to convert.
My favorite board game. Worker placement with a great twist. Dice duels, but that you can plan for. City building where you are all jockeying for position. Economic engines to build. Player interaction. Variability. Player interaction. Even passing is interesting. I have owned and loved this game for over 15 years, and don't see that changing.
Great worker placement game. Tons of options. Fast play and duel with other players. Also tons of variability due to 18 role cards with two sides, wich means you have 36 different role cards and choose 7 per game. Also very good mini expancions you can bring to play. Great material too. Got the special kickstarter edition with extra wooden tiles. One of my favourite worker placement games.
Wow! Stellar game. The game system levers are so beautifully wrought to be in tension with one another. And great player interaction at every turn. Does a player have an awesome building generating a ton of cash? Go try and raid it! Did they take a spot you wanted? Duel them! So much fun and so much replayability. Not for carebears who hate having any take-that or negative interaction. Not for those who insist on zero luck and don't like games where luck mitigation is part of the strategic element. Otherwise, the combination of worker placement, tile placement, city building, and many thematic elements just make this game locked into my collection. Easy 10.
