Awesome production quality, could only fault the boxes a little and having rules spread across 3 books. Extremely tight rule set, quick set up and turns yet strategic decisions have to be frequently made. So far played 4 games vs AI, 2 v 2AI. And a 2 vs 2. AI is solid with varying difficulties and strategies but much prefer fighting other players for a challenging game. Furthermore the range of commanders gives huge replayability to this game.

If you’re looking for the epic scale of a wargame but with the flow and accessibility of a modern board game, this delivers. An epic tactical wargame that brings RTS gameplay to the table with stunning fidelity. Resource management, positioning, and unit synergy create relentless tension and big, cinematic moments. Heavy setup and rules, but the payoff is immense. As a huge fan, this is one of the most thematic and rewarding experiences out there.
This is what I've been waiting for since the first CoH pc game was released. The sheer size and production quality is monumental, the gameplay is simple and easy to learn, while the strategical depth is immensely varied and deep. This is a testement that raised the bar for boardgames, and a cornerstone in boardgaming for the tactical combat-genre, like Gloomhaven for the RPG-genre and Pandemic Legacy is for the co-op genre. BCG has created a legend amongst boardgames.
This game is so smooth, clean and just plain fun. I started off by playing two against myself and even with the fairly deterministic combat, both games were tight and down to the wire. I then taught a friend, new to war games but plays board games and he really enjoyed it. His comment was, it's a lot easier than it looks. I finally "made" my teenage son play and he is now hooked. We have now played 3 games and I finally won the 3rd game as he is definitely a strategy master. He made up several "build order" and game plans for his favorite faction: the OKW. He really hates the Soviet snipers and their camouflage Our next plan is to try out a co-op game vs the AI system.
I am so impressed with this game. I am a wargamer looking to expand my 15mm model collection. Part of the reason I kickstarted this game. What I did not expect was a terrific and fun game. Definitely not a simulation for serious historic players. That said, the game, and components are exceptional. I am not well versed enough in WWII AFVs to comment on the models, other than they look terrific to my novice eyes. If you buy it for the models, definitely play the game. The re-playability is exceptional. Solos great, even without the solo expansion. Strongly Recommended!
