I just got Cosmoctopus. WHAT A GAME!!! My daughter and I have been playing this every day and loving it. So well balanced. Simple rule set, yet strategic with lots of fun decisions and interesting ways to get points. Although we've employed different strategies when we play, every game is down to the last turn regarding who will win. In my experience this plays at about 45 minutes for two players.

This is one of my favorites. Super easy to teach, fun mechanics, fast turns, plenty of rounds to feel like building your deck pays off, and the production value is very gratifying. Great game for your casual gaming friends. Great job, Paper Fort!
I got to play this at Spiel '22 in Essen. Initially attracted by the nice look, the game did not disappoint me. I found the rules easy to understand, but with enough depth to also enjoy this game if you play it a lot and you really know what you are doing. The flexibility of up to 4 players, solo-mode and co-op mode is another plus. Can't wait to get my copy and try the other modes too (and of course play the 4-player version again).
My nephew has been playing this game with his oldest boy, so I figured that I needed to acquire a copy also to be prepared in 6 years when my oldest grandson turns ten! Maybe sooner? I love all the wonderful flavor text on the myriad 92 cards within the game! (That's one of the things I really enjoyed about MtG, BTW) Oh! And I was requested to design the microbadge [microbadge=58268] for the game!
I cannot believe how much I love this game. I love the design, and the fonts, and the game play. My friend turns wooden bowls and I bought four from her for game parts.
