Death in the Dark Continent is a 176-page color hardcover that takes readers deep into late 19th-century Africa. At its heart is a wargame that allows players to deploy armies of miniature figures representing African Tribes, European Invaders, and Indigenous Kingdoms. With an emphasis on African peoples as well as Colonial Invaders, Death in the Dark Continent is a unique publication offering 80 different army lists covering all the enormously diverse forces of sub-Saharan Africa from 1870 to 1899. Death in the Dark Continent also includes historical context of the situation in Africa in 1870-99, a who's who of the main protagonists, and a bonus skirmish game. We've filled the book with photographs of painted miniatures, many of which are used to illustrate the game itself as well as to show how beautiful the armies of this period can be. There's also an extensive selection of period illustrations and photographs to recreate the atmosphere of late 19th-century Africa. Death in the Dark Continent has been expanded to include the Boxer Rebellion in China.
