This second edition fulfills the possibilities of the 1st Edition! William Marsh ceveloped a great system for handling these colonial wars in North America. The Victory Conditions are well thought out for the American Revolution Campaign, giving both sides choices to make. I will always enjoy playing this one.

Several scenario plays and working my way up to the "big show" campaign. Packs a lot of historical detail into some lean and fairly straightforward rules. Components are top shelf. Awesome.
No rating. Just purchased on 12/27/24. It’s on the way Have it now. Give it a provisional rating based on component quality and a reading of the rules. I really like it.
I bought this as I am a sucker for North American history and the era. I am not fortunate enough to have a regular opponent and found this a rewarding solo experience. It is simple enough to not get bogged down, but has enough special character to make it a keeper. Real value for money and great support from Compass games too. It scratches a different itch to Wilderness War (my favourite), but I have no regrets.
I've revisited EoE after a long hiatus and have concluded it is a real gem. It does a great job capturing operational warfare prior to the Napoleonic era. Some of the scenarios are playable in under an hour (Lord Dunsmore's War) up to who knows how long for the full ARW.
