Started playing last night with the wife. First location was brilliant already. Can tell there will be a lot more to this game. Love the deck building aspect and controlling 2 familiars in a 2 player game. Can't wait to see where it takes us.

Bought on July 20/22 from Railyard Games in Parksville, Vancouver Island. $98.50. The salesman really sold me on it - he had found it himself, then the owner brought it into the store, and both of them have been playing it. They couldn't say enough good things about it.
An extraordinary adventure with a flavorfull story, interesting characters and surprisingly strategic gameplay. I have played mice and mystics and aftermath but Familiar Tales is the best. Fun to play as a family but also with just adult gamers. Good job Mr Jerry Hawthorne!
Played 6 games so far with my kids of 9 and 6 (who are french as first language) and they really enjoy it even if not understading the whole story yet. About 45 minutes by games. Didn't fail a game so far, but fairy has to keep the baby content pretty much each of their turn and nothing else (following the golem). So this character is pretty much not doing much beside that. We are 3 players so, this character is played by me (with another one) so its not boring for the kids. Nice miniatures even though its small, painted couple of them, worth the price!
This game deserves a perfect 10 in my book for the sole fact for bringing my wife into the board game scene. but don't think that it doesn't earn it on its own merit! this game combines deck building nice card play and epic narrated adventure all in one. the complexity sits in the perfect spot for new and old gamers with a theme that attracts anyone interested in a medieval fantasy world.
