While heavily luck dependent and not a whole lot of mitigation, the theme saves this game for me 100%. I quite like Final Girl, and while mechanically it is a better game, I feel like the theme and atmosphere of Hostage Negotiator just makes every action feel so much more weighty. If you can fully buy in to what the game is trying to do and the stories it can tell then I think the game is a real treat. If you're more into mechanics and tightness then this probably is not the game for you.
