SUITABILITY: 3-6 players, best at 4 maybe. PLAYABILITY: I will propose, I'll never refuse. COMMENT: awesome political game with a mix of area control and economy having simple rules at the same time. Turbo underrated, gets better and better with every session. Group (experience) dependent. Easy to play hard to master. Fun out of the roof for below 20 euro. VERDICT: must have and foundation of my current collection. I'll never sell it.

Perfect! Relatively simple rules but very challenging brain trainer. A bit too long. Continuous recovering of miliary damages caused by opponents becomes boring after 2 hours of such repetitive activities. I would love to play it on time limit basis instead of waiting as first global power reaches 25 points. Let's say the game finishes after 2 hours when Europe as last in turn finishes it's turn. I'm sure it wouldn't harm the game.
i have 1830 and love it, and when i find this game i bought it immediately, it is such a wonderful game ! i love the idea, rules are very easy but game play is very challenging and interesting. you need diplomacy and calculation. very unique strategy game.
This game has supplanted Twilight Imperium for me. The countries look like they are playing a TI/Diplomacy-like game, but the investors who control them are ultimately looking out only for their own portfolios, which has many knock-on effects. Leader-bashing, or even knowing who the leader is, can be difficult in this game. And it's good with 4 to 6 players, a flexibility in player count that's rare for diplomatic games.
Same rating as Imperial. The scale is different, and play has to adjust accordingly. I went with groupthink on this one for awhile, and I shouldn't have done that.
Europe in the age of imperialism. International investors try to achieve the greatest influence in Europe. With their bonds, they control the politics of the six imperial nations: Austria-Hungary, Italy, France, Great Britain, the German Empire, and Russia. The nations erect factories, build fleets, and deploy armies. The investors watch as their nations expand, wage wars, levy taxes, and collect the proceeds. Since the European nations are under the shifting influence of different investors, new strategic alliances and conflicts arise between them again and again!
Each player represents an international investor. Only he who succeeds in increasing his capital and gaining influence in the most powerful European nations will win the imperial competition.
Imperial is a varied strategy game without the luck of dice or cards.
