Description Description
Inferno is based on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. It allows you to immerse yourself in both his masterpiece and the city where Dante was born. Florence in the 14th century - you are rival families trying to become as influential and infamous as possible. Not only in the city itself, but also in the hell below. Deliver the souls of sinners to the underworld and use your contacts with unscrupulous characters in the city. Help the damned cross the river Acheron and lead them into their predetermined circle of hell to collect shame. But beware of the guardians of hell: Cerberus, Medusa, Minotaur, and others may be on your side, but if others gain their favor, they will turn against you. With each new soul that enters hell, Dante approaches Purgatory on his descent where his journey ends. Whoever has brought the most souls to eternal torment in a hellish circle receives shame points. Collect as many as possible to win the game as the most shameful family.

I had tested this game since it was released in TTS and enjoy playing it so much. I wouldn't hesitate to back it in Gamefound. Until I got a real copy in my hand, all the components were impressive. Even I had problems with my meeples, Red Mojo had given a good help to deal with it. Love the game and the company so much. Thank you for this creativity.

This is my first BGG Rating, and my only so-far intended 10 Rating. This one game has it all: An overwhelming theme with a satirical touch, an abstract game-in-the game, moderate complexity and mild interaction. Recommended not to play it with humorless or AP guys, though. If you want, you can apply a house rule that makes it mandatory to act out the parts when you accuse a sinner…

Complex enough to be challenging but with a wonderful streamlined ability to play. Resource management and an element of worker placement. Very happy with this game and will table it quite frequently. After multiple plays I truly feel like this keeps getting better every time I play it.

The negative reactions I read here are exactly the positive points for me. Finally, a game where the mechanisms fit the theme perfectly, intricately woven together, and where you’re drawn into an adventure for just the right amount of time to fully experience all the possibilities. Not one that suddenly ends just as you’ve built up your engine or your strategy. Incredible how close we came in points playing with just the two of us — but we were both really focused. A wonderful game on every level.
