Description
After failing to track down her mother, young Pat returns to her original plan: to buy, or if necessary build from scratch, a ranch of her own. The problem is not the dream, but the money. Her savings are not much… To try to recover the money, Ken accepts an unusual proposal: to become a professional boxer. Ken had learned to fight in alleys, labour camps and frontier brawls where people fought over an insult or a bottle. But in the ring it is different. There are rules. And an audience that wants blood. Every blow taken is a dollar to recover. Every round completed is a step towards the ranch that does not yet exist. Every fall avoided is a silent promise made to Pat.
