One of Knizia's more underrated designs and a favorite of mine, as players determine where and when they want to attempt area majority scoring and with connection bonuses if possible. Great art too. +second copy NIS

King's Road - Kickstarter edition
Order by 15:00 Italian time for same-day dispatch, Monday to Friday.
Delivery in Italy normally takes 1 business day, 2 for the islands.
Explore King's Road, a strategy game of nobles vying for power. Players must influence the king and read their opponents' minds in 30-minute games for 2-5 players.
- 55 cards (63.0mmx88.0mm)
In King's Road, the players are nobles who are attempting to gain power and influence within the king's many provinces. As the king travels along the road that connects all the major landmarks within his territory, he will allow the most influential noble in each region to govern in his stead. Over time, the most favored noble will win the game. King's Road is an area-majority game. Each player has identical decks of eleven cards. On a turn, players simultaneously select the three cards they will play, and in what order. To win, players not only have to influence the king as he traverses the land, but attempt to read the minds of their opponents. King's Road reimplements the game Imperium, previously only available within game compendiums.

Area majority reduced to its core.. Knizia at its best! Few rules and just the players making the game. Which means its needs the be played more then once, preferably by the same player group. In a half hour time frame.. a winner!
Easy to learn "Gateway Game". At least that's my opinion. Super quick to explain and easy to get into. Every time we reveal the location cards there will always be groans or complaints & accusations being thrown out (mostly from me) and yet we can't really get mad at them since it's all hidden information. Highly recommended =D
An elegantly simple breath of fresh air. Cannot recall anything else that combines a straightforward, bare-bones ruleset, and yet somehow manages to be this mentally grueling. The deductive reasoning in determining an optimal play is easy, the inductive reasoning necessary to determine how your opponents might mess up your plans is anything but. Scales like butter from 3-5. Few knocks against it. Engrossing, fast, satisfying thinker's game. Few better warm-up games have existed/will ever exist. Cheers, Dr. Knizia. Releasing this as a standalone was a beautiful decision.
So finally got a round to playing the king’s road Kickstarter. Really interesting game. We only played with 2 but I can see how this will be exponentially more fun the more players play. Great fun and only took 20 minutes.
