Still more variability with a whole new set of map tiles, victory cards/conditions, and new abilities that really change what you knew about kingdom builder. Great way to change up the game play and offer a bit more competition to the board with blocking abilities and opportunities to cut people off. Brilliant.
More new stuff. More replayability. Sweet. Details: - new abilities are always welcome (though the 'Crossroads' tile seems not so critical when you play KB as you ALWAYS SHOULD i.e. with 2 terrain cards in hand instead of 1) - I really like these locations introducing new - mobile! - pieces (warrior, wagon, ship) - tasks are fine - the games when they mean something are great
Kingdom Builder is one of the best games ever, with an exceptional replay value. These expansions are really great, adding even more variety. But if I only consider the new maps, that is priceless alone.
12-27-13-first play with this exp. Glad to be playing this game again since it fell away with the cult of the new. :) 11-27-13-ordered from coolstuffinc.com for Miles!
Update Jan.2018: we slowly start mixing in the Crossroads boards. First was the Monastery with the carriage. I love that carriage, there are so many more options to go to now. Bought together with Nomads and Marshlands. Will be played after we're familiar with Nomads (Marshlands has to wait longer). The base game has proven to be great in its simplicity. [i]Only first play will be logged; from then on it will always be in the mix.[/i]
