In Kolory, each player is trying to create as large a territory as possible through clever card play.
To set up the game, one card showing four white quadrants is placed on the table while each player holds ten cards, with each card having four quadrants of a particular color. On a turn, a player adds a card to the playing area, laying it adjacent to other cards already in play or covering one or more cards – but only one quadrant can be covered on each card.
Once all the cards have been played, the player with the largest area of orthogonally-connected quadrants scores one point per quadrant. The player with the most points after a certain number of rounds wins.
