Description Description
Get ready to enter the poor and dreary Whitechapel district in London 1888 – the scene of the mysterious Jack the Ripper murders – with its crowded and smelly alleys, hawkers, shouting merchants, dirty children covered in rags who run through the crowd and beg for money, and prostitutes – called "the wretched" – on every street corner.

The board game Letters from Whitechapel takes the players right there. One player plays Jack the Ripper, and his goal is to take five victims before being caught. The other players are police detectives who must cooperate to catch Jack the Ripper before the end of the game. The game board represents the Whitechapel area at the time of Jack the Ripper and is marked with 199 numbered circles linked together by dotted lines. During play, Jack the Ripper, the Policemen, and the Wretched are moved along the dotted lines that represent Whitechapel's streets. Jack the Ripper moves stealthily between numbered circles, while policemen move on their patrols between crossings, and the Wretched wander alone between the numbered circles.

Enjoy this most at 3 players. Two detectives discussing their investigation out loud making Jack sweat or Jack reveling in their despair as the case goes cold. Enough for all players to stay quite active and entertained.

Awesome. The best hidden movement game I know. And better than Whitehall Mystery from my point of view (I have both). Both are easy to bring to the table but Whitechapel wins on the atmosphere and depth of gameplay.

Excellent board game one of my favourites for sure. I have also Whitehall mystery but this game has something more in strategy than the other and is for 5 and 6 players.Everboyd love this game when we play!!!??

The GOAT deduction game. The first time I played this with my buddy we both said "how is it even possible to catch Jack". We never put any rules in place to make it easier and now it is like 50/50. So it is perfectly balanced, but you need at least 1 experienced player on each side. Replayability is endless. Other games have added different things like special powers and more rules, but this one is the most elegant and remains my favorite.

The best logical deduction game for me. It's raw and simple. There is a player player-induced bluff element that makes the game mess with your head. The theme is dark but very well implemented.
