Maracaibo Der Aufstand

You stand at the railing and gaze at the horizon, where the weary sun sinks into the sea. As calculated by your navigator, a small island appears in the distance, which you can still reach before nightfall. A little later, you have dropped anchor and are rowing with the dinghy to this island. Eerie animal sounds come from the menacing jungle – not exactly an inviting place, but perfect for a hideout. The wooden shed in the middle of the thicket stands intact, you unlock the mighty iron lock with your key and find all the treasures you have hidden here. Tomorrow you will take some of it on board and sell it in the next town. After you have sold the treasures the next day and filled your bellies at the local tavern, you hear screams and gunshots, a tumult seems to have broken out outside. When you investigate, you see dozens of serfs and natives rising up and defending themselves against the European oppressors. Quickly on board and away – will you close your eyes? Or take a stand and help put an end to the injustice?
