Starfall is inspired by video games like Zelda and Final Fantasy. The adventure is designed to introduce tabletop RPG to both inexperienced Game Masters and novice players, while still requiring some improvisation. It's a linear and episodic adventure: each chapter is designed to be played in a short session.
The characters are newly graduated from the Academy for Applied Heroism: during the final exam a star falls from the sky and shatters into five pieces. Wherever the star fragments strike the earth, animals transform into monsters, and the task of the young heroes is to recover the lost pieces.
