The first to reach the top earns a scoring card, and any further identical rolls allow the goat at the top to collect more, until another goat pushes it down. In Saga, there are special abilities that can be activated when the dice show the goat symbol.

This is a legacy version of one of my favorite dice games of all-time, Mountain Goats. Most legacy games are big, beefy experiences that take months to finish, but Mountain Goats Legacy maintains its accessible, family friendly nature. This is the type of legacy game I could actually complete. Each of its 11 chapters adds fun new rules and switches up the game play for Mountain Goats. In addition, you don’t destroy anything, so you could pick your favorite chapters and just play that in the future.

Family weight game. Essentially it adds expansion modules to Mountain Goats, and gives you a campaign to add them in over time. It is not actually a "legacy" game where you permanently change the game. In other words, it can be "reset". I think the extra stuff is pretty great and transforms Mountain Goats into a more variable and dynamic game. My kids in particular are enjoying it (which is the main reason I bought it).

This is a great way to play Mountain Goats! The story, such as it is, is not particularly compelling, but the small adjustments to the core Mountain Goats formula are excellent.
