Nataterra
Nataterra is an asymmetric territory control strategy board game combining resource management and technological advancement. A groundbreaking combat system delivers strategic depth like no other, with battles playing out as games within the game. A card-based tech tree lets you evolve endlessly, while 17 map tiles with unique hexes ensure no two games are alike.
The game is coming soon
Nataterra is an asymmetric territory control board game with resource management, technological advancement, and an original combat system, set in an unexplored fantasy world waiting to be discovered.
The combat system works as a game within a game: when units clash in a map zone, each unit is represented on a separate board, creating very high strategic depth.
It evolves through a technology tree based on a deck of cards: each card unlocks a new card or component on your main board, allowing you to develop your civilization further.
The 17 map tiles, each composed of six hexagons, ensure biomes and resources are always different, creating nearly infinite configurations. You can choose from four distinct civilizations, each with its own characteristics; with 11 victory conditions and 16 customizable map tiles, replayability is virtually infinite.

This game is so involved, and has clearly had so much love and thought put into it. The combat systems for each race feel unique and thematic, the map movement is incredibly versatile and this game will push your strategic mind to the limit. At first it can be overwhelming but once you get into the rhythm of it the flow is really smooth. An overwhelmingly enjoyable experience with multiple wincons and strategies to enjoy. To people who love a 4X, I can't recommend this game enough!
Had the pleasure of playing this with the developer over tabletop simulator after seeing it at UKGE and I was immediately hooked. The game structure is simple to learn yet the strategic depth is expensive and becomes apparent as you gain experience with the mechanics. The combat itself is deep and the dice rolling luck doesn't feel as critical for success as it may appear, but adds some variance and excitement. This includes the tactics deck for each faction that can shake things up alongside the randomly drawn biome tile. The game is meaty and I'm very much looking forward to my copy arriving!
I played a demo of this game at UKGE and I was blown away. I had no knowledge of the game beforehand but it was easy to learn and extremely fun! Even though there are a lot of elements, the turns are fairly quick and keep players engaged. The designer is also clearly very passionate about the game. I almost never commit to pre-orders but I immediately pre-ordered my copy of Nataterra and can't wait for it to arrive!
I received a review copy of the game and played several times in order to do a video playthrough. This is a great fantasy 4x style game, but one that doesnt take forever to play. The factions all play a little different and make for great variety.
