Overgrown: Verdant Edition

Overgrown: Verdant Edition is a captivating tile placement game where players restore abandoned cities with new vegetation and wildlife. Compete for limited resources, but beware: your positioning also determines what tiles your opponents receive. An original mechanic where you control the shared pool and manage pollution tiles. The player who creates the most thriving city in 30 minutes of gameplay wins.

Description Description

In Overgrown players strive to revive an abandoned city with new vegetation and wildlife, competing for the resources necessary to do so. Inspired by tile combination games in match-3 style, Overgrown offers an original twist: each player determines which tiles their opponents will receive based on where they place their own.

Players embody the forces of nature transforming polluted and abandoned cities into lush paradises teeming with wildlife. Each turn players gather elements needed to restore flora and reintroduce fauna from a shared pool; elements are limited and mixed with pollution tiles, so not all cities can be completely revived.

Unlike other tile placement games, here you control the pool from which everyone draws, both in what you take and how you use it. At the end of the game, the player with the most thriving city wins. This is the Verdant edition, the deluxe version of the game.

Backed this on Kickstarter because of the theme and was looking forward to the spacial puzzle. I absolutely love this game. The constant changing location of where you can get tiles from, the crater location being different each game and the way you can plan ahead IF you're thinking ahead, is wonderful.

Kickstarter with expansion. Received 8/15/26. I've played 10 times - all multi-handed solo - so probably enough to give a rating. I hope to get my wife to play. I like the colors, nature theme, and the puzzle. Just had my best score - 22 for 2 "different" players.
