Some rounds noone wanted to have this "golden snitch" ... but some rounds we payed a LOT of credits to rent it. Definitely an addition to the game. Would always add it to the base game, even just for a new option.

Planet Steam: Golden Eagle is a board game that adds an additional freighter for resource management. The Golden Eagle can carry up to 3 resources of any kind and is auctioned at the beginning of phase B. The auction winner has the opportunity to extend the rent for one year. If not extended, the freighter returns to the IPF and is auctioned again.

Description
An additional freighter for Planet Steam, fresh from the IPF.
The Golden Eagle carries up to 3 resources of whatever kind.
It gets auctioned at the beginning of phase B. The winner of the auction places his bid beneath the card. During change of year the owner has the opportunity to prolong the rent once for an extra year for the exact amount under the card. The whole amount of credits is then payed to the bank.
If the rent is not prolonged, the Eagle returns to the IPF and is again auctioned. Any resources on the Eagle may be redistributed.
