Two new expansion maps for Power Grid: Russia on one side and Japan on the other.
In Russia the market for power plants is restricted. Additionally, the standard rules for exchanging out of date power plants are changed, forcing the leading players to completely rethink their strategies.
Based on the crowded geographical surroundings, the players can start two separate networks in Japan. The first connections are restricted to certain cities, guaranteeing a tough fight for the best networks.
In Russia the market for power plants is restricted. Additionally, the standard rules for exchanging out of date power plants are changed, forcing the leading players to completely rethink their strategies.

Purchased at favorite local game store. All things Power Grid are 10's. Especially love the Russian map.

Стратегия. Мало случайностей (только аукцион электростанций). Мало скрытой информации (только количество денег). Куча поводов подумать. Прикольные механики: аукцион, рынок ресурсов, слабый игрок получает преимущество.

Japan: Makes a 3-player game enjoyable. There are many cities restricted to only 2 players and the second network both provide actual strategy to this aspect of the game with so few players. Russia: Extremely fast game. The new power plant rule usually benefits the group as its more likely to remove the lowest plant than in the base game. Opposite of Japan, this makes the 6-player game more enjoyable. As EVERYONE is clamoring over one another.

2 player game on Japan was tough. But good fun nevertheless. Looking forward to Russia!
