Qwirkle Cubes plays much like Qwirkle - simply create rows and columns of matching colors and shapes to score the most points. However, you have more control over your hand in Qwirkle Cubes because you can roll and re-roll your cubes to get the shapes you want! Each turn has 3 easy steps: - Roll as many cubes from your hand as you want. - Play cubes from your hand to build color lines and shape lines. - Draw and roll replacement cubes. Everyone plays open-handed so players can better judge their opponents' future moves. Wow this is even better than the orginal and that's saying something. This will get lots of play and the wife loves it. That's a big plus. I have never owned a game that so many people wanted to buy their own copy. If only they could get it for sale at Target and Walmart with a bit of buzz it would sell tons of copies.

Great family game about on the level of Ingenious. Nice components, quick & easy rules, strategy, with a modest playing time. I rate this a 8 because my family asks to play this one. Also with 2 people final scores go over 200 and are often within 1-3 points. This means until the very end can be anyone's game. The "sometimes brain freeze" keeps this at a 9 instead of a 10.

One of the main reasons this is my favorite board game is because of the abstract format. I can relate this game to the Tundra Orcs from one of my favorite games, Summoner Wars. I can relate them because both of them are kind of like a gamble. In summoner wars, you rely on the dice to get you to win with those orcs, and in qwirkle cubes, you must have the dice "respect" your commands.

Qwirkle Cubes is THE version of Qwirkle to get in my opinion. Like the original game, you get points when you place pieces that are either the same colour or same shape….but with the Qwirkle dice, every turn you can choose which ones to roll and which ones to keep! If you like chucking dice, this is a great pick.
