I give this expansion the super high rating for the variety of new objective/flag tiles! It basically doubles the available flag tiles that you can randomly pull from in any given game of Railroad Tiles (base game only or with an expansion) which is really nice! I'm not sure how I feel about the special meeple tokens. It looks like a lot of extra explanation for just adding in a few pieces. I think I would rather just add in one expansion vs playing with just the extra meeples or both.

Railroad Tiles: World Expansion
The World Expansion for Railroad Tiles introduces new objectives and special pawns, enhancing gameplay. The new objectives integrate seamlessly with the base game and other expansions, while special pawns offer new strategies and scoring. Perfect for 1-4 players, with games lasting about 30 minutes, suitable for ages 8 and up.

New Objectives
The new Objectives included in the World Expansion work just like those included with the core game and are simply added to the roster of Objective you can choose from when selecting your 3 Objectives at the start of the game, which you must then place when a Placement token with a flag is revealed on the Station board and adds a new scoring condition for the end of the game. For example, the Observatory wants to be placed in a column or row that contains at least 6 tiles.
Special Pawns
Each Special pawn is associated to one of the main types (Cars, Trains, or Travelers; the Bus pawn is a special Car pawn, for example) and comes with specific rules that affect where you can place them and/or how many points they are worth when you place them. For example, the Mechanic is a special Traveler pawn that can be placed on a Train pinpoint, in addition to a regular Traveler pinpoint; additionally, if you do so, you gain 1 additional point.
To place a Special pawn, you need to wait for the Placement token of the corresponding type to come up, just like a regular pawn of the same kind, but with an additional limitation: you can place a Special pawn only if you have at least 2 pawns of the same kind already placed on your network (they don't need to be connected to each other or the Special pawn that you want to place, even though that is usually better for you in terms of score).

This is the expansion that just adds a bunch of new content. I think 10 new goals to mix in and match with the base game or even with another expansion, and some new meeple tokens to use. It is really easy to incorporate this content. Really enjoyed!
The special pawns are rather hohum. You get only one of each, and they generally home simply a one-time ability. If they score you any points, they usually do not score you many points. I only include these if we are playing just the base game, and it can be fun to accomplish placing each of you special pawns – even if they aren't worth a lot. The new objective tiles are the star attraction in this box. The World Expansion includes 10 more scoring objectives, compared with only 7 objectives in the base game. I highly recommended this box for just these new tiles alone. Rating: Very Good • 8/10
