Description
A new tile placement game by Reiner Knizia set in a lush and hopeful future. Rebirth revitalizes this classic genre with simplified mechanics combined with an evocative vision from Mighty Boards — that of a lush, welcoming, and hopeful future. Changes include: castles reduced by 20%, 12 castles instead of 14, cathedral tokens reduced by 16%, a slightly modified box for optimized transport, the game board reduced by 10%, improved cardboard lamination for increased durability, and inclusion of 4 zip-lock bags for easier storage. Changes were carefully considered to maintain a similar feel to the current version. Components remain substantial with no negative impact on visibility. Cathedrals and castles are still made from recycled wood/resin composite material, cardboard thickness remains unchanged, game contents are unchanged, and the board is still double-sided, including both Ireland and Scotland.

It's so simple but enjoyable. The quality of the board is great. I would have kept it but there's no solo play available and my friends enjoyed it A LOT, so I gave it to them. It's so fun that I think an expansion with new maps would do well.
Very simple, but quite tactical area control cluster combo tile laying game. The more you play the more you know about the missions and potentially proactively seazing them or blocking your opponents, castles are important. The Irish side has more depth and strategy involved, everyone that's played wants to play again. Just recieved some home made token bags to make it even better.
Rebirth feels like a breath of fresh air. A very sandboxy area control / spacial puzzle / abstract game that left me wanting MORE and MORE. The sheer number of spaces on the board can be daunting at first, but the limitation of having only one tile to choose from drives the question to "what spot is best at this stage of the game?" The cathedral spots are a very safe bet and guiding hand early, but as real estate dries up you will be searching for spots that have double or triple impact, or developing the groundwork for a good turn in the future. And with some good luck, you may get to reap the rewards from the seeds you planted so long ago. So simple, feels so good. Thank you Dr. WOW
What was initially a lukewarm impression of the game have become a kind of deeper appreciation of the brilliance in design and its leverage of incredibly smooth gameplay. It's basically like Kingdom Builder meets Samurai, in a beautiful package and stunning setting. Definitely a top-5 evergreen gateway game! Give it 10 years and it will sit alongside the modern classics on the top seller shelf.
Rebirth est un très bon jeu familial de placement de tuiles. Même si le jeu peut paraitre répétitif, les parties restent courtes et ne se ressemblent pas. Les objectifs vous obligeront à jouer différemment en fonction de ce que vous piocherez. Les règles sont simples à prendre en main et à expliquer. Rebirth est donc un jeu qui va permettre de faire jouer un maximum de personnes, même si elles ne sont pas habituées à jouer à de nombreux jeux.
