EVERY CARD IS UNIQUE. Turns are quick, with seemingly endless combinations of artifacts, mages, monuments and places of power. Masterful achievement of design for a card game in which you don't spend half the game reading text on cards.
A 35 euro boardgame didn't need to have: such a practical insert, so good illustrations, so smooth, tactical and deep game play... but Res Arcana does all this. It is avery addictive game you will find yourself want to play again and again, and try a different approach each time.
minimalistic combo engine builder It's a card game, but it's very strategic. The satisfaction of making big turns and the depth of discovering unexpected synergies I want to play it over and over again

Simply the best card game I have ever played. and one of the best pure engine builder. Update: I think the game needs at least the first expansion, since the there are strategies in the base game that feels pretty algorithmic
