you can search the beach for stuff with a special gather action... we use the spyglass of illusory hope in conjunction with this using house rules...

A push your luck gathering action... if lucky, it is much rewarding. I will always play with them

This small module allows for a unique action on the beach tile. Instead of collecting the tile's goods you search the beach by drawing from the beach deck. Sometimes there are good things in there, sometimes nothing wasting your action (which is very precious in this game). It's a fine little addition with a minor but nice affect on the game. It's worth playing with most of the time I think for those that want to gamble on getting a little bit more out of their search action.

Cool expansion. Staying on the beach to look for treasures !!! Discard 1 Nothing sounds a good balance to make them worth it.
